That is the whole policy. The rest of this page explains what it means in practice, and covers the one case where your data can leave the app without breakbook being involved.

What breakbook does not do

• It does not ask you to make an account, and it has no way to identify you.
• It does not send your videos, photos, notes, tags or names anywhere.
• It does not use analytics, crash reporting or advertising.
• It does not include third-party software that collects data about you.
• It does not track you across other apps or websites.

There is no server to talk to. breakbook has no backend, and the app has no code that uploads your content.

Where your data lives

Everything you create in breakbook - moves, notes, tags, and the video and photos attached to them - is written to private storage belonging to the app on your device. Move details are kept in a local database file; media is copied into the app’s own folder so that the move keeps working if you later change the original.

Other apps cannot read that storage, and neither can we. Nobody at breakbook can see your practice footage.

Device backups

This is the one way your content can leave your phone. If you use iCloud Backup or you back your device up to a computer, that backup can include breakbook’s data along with every other app’s. Those backups are made and stored by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy, not by breakbook, and you control them in your device’s settings.

Permissions the app asks for

breakbook asks for each of these only when you first use the feature that needs it, and you can turn any of them off later in your device settings. Declining one limits that feature and nothing else.

• Camera - to record video for a move. Footage goes straight into the app’s own storage.
• Microphone - to record sound along with that video.
• Photos - to let you pick an existing clip to attach to a move, and to read that clip’s capture date so the move is dated when it was filmed rather than when you imported it. breakbook reads from your library; it does not write to it.
• Motion - so the camera controls turn with your phone when you rotate it while filming.

Deleting your data

Deleting a move puts it in Recently Deleted, where it waits 30 days before it is removed for good. You can restore it or delete it permanently before then.

Deleting the app removes everything it stored, including any moves still sitting in Recently Deleted. There is nothing left behind on a server, because there is no server. If you have device backups, remove those separately through Apple.

Children

breakbook is not directed at children, and since it collects no information at all, it collects none from children either.

Changes to this policy

If breakbook ever starts handling data differently, this page will be updated and the effective date at the top will change. A change that affects what leaves your device would be announced in the app before it took effect.
